So, not sure if I've mentioned this before or not, but my "current" job has a bit of an issue called they haven't been giving me shit in terms of hours. I mean getting maybe one shift over the course of a couple MONTHS that's how bad it is. I don't think I've had an actual shift that I've worked the full thing since last year, to be totally honest. I did, in all technicality, have a shift sometime in January, but they ended up changing up the timing on me the day of, which wound up in me being damn near an hour late. Didn't get alerted, even double checked the night before so I would be on time because who in their right mind would change a shift like that??? McDonald's apparently.
Anyway, because of that whole fiasco, I've been job hunting again. While...still technically employed. I know it's normally the smart thing to do regardless but I literally have the same amount of free time as your average unemployed individual. So I've been planning outings to "job hunt" at the request/demand of my roommate. I don't know what she actually expects me to be doing on these outings, but I personally plan on quite literally just fucking around.
For example, last time I ended up going to this one shopping district a few cities away from me. Rode the train up there, took a short walk, got a chai latte and breakfast burrito from a local coffee shop, and came home. Simple easy outing. Also nowhere was fucking hiring despite the fact that one of the places actively had a "NOW HIRING" sign in the window. Should be illegal tbh [joking].
Today I'm actually planning to go back to my hometown and walk around for...a few hours? I dunno. I miss it a lot and I wanna hang out there for a bit. Plus, there's a lot of shops that I never got to check out as a kid that I'm gonna be able to now. This whole adventure is unsupervised and I'm finally getting to break free of that weird grip my parent had on me since I was a kid. It's nice getting some form of independence. Even if it's only for a few hours.
I'll probably make a post tomorrow updating how the adventure went today! For now, though, I'm going to finish my breakfast (apple danish and a can of ginger ale) and finish packing a day trip bag before I look up bus schedules.
