Been a bit since I've posted one of these. Haven't really been keeping up on my studies all that consistently, so it's been hard to think of things to updatet with.
I started reading a webtoon at the recommendation of a friend (Homesick) and honestly? I didn't think I'd get as invested in it as I am! I'm not normally one for post-apocalyptic type stories, since that kind of thing tends to freak me out more than intrigue me. But...guess some things can subvert expectations, huh? Anyway, without spoiling things, I've been absolutely going insane over some of the plot twists and...honestly, I don't know if I'd be able to keep quiet about the spoilers to my husband if I didn't end up meeting this friend. It's something I never thought I'd say, especially considering how hard it's been for me to make friends in the first place, but lately it's seemed easier.
I keep being forcibly reminded that the job market isn't exactly what it was before COVID hit. I've put out so many applications in the past little bit and only a couple of them have even gotten back to me wanting any form of interview. Unfortunately, that's about as far as it gets. Which...is starting to get really disheartening. I don't know how people do it, to be honest. It's not even a lot of jobs that have refused me after an interview, but...damn. People really can't say anything about how "easy" it'd be to get a job right now, when it seems like everyone's hiring but no one actually wants to hire new people. I'm starting to wonder if those signs are a lie, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Recently, I was listening to music on my computer that I have downloaded from years ago and Ball and Chain by Social Distortion came on and I realized something. That song is...really simple in terms of guitar chords, isn't it? Just a grand total of 3 played over and over again with the same rhythm. Only problem is that I can't really find anything that agrees on the tuning or what chords those are, so I kinda feel stuck while trying to learn. Might try tuning my guitar down a half step and seeing how that sounds, but...that's definitely not happening until tomorrow.
